The EDGE Podcast: Bubba & the Boyz are Back!

Negative gamma, a 70% crash call, and the discipline tricks that work — Ryan, Bubba, and Rob on the wildest market in months.

The boys are back. Me, Bubba, and Rob — another Saturday, no script, just three traders breaking down a market that’s gone absolutely wild.

Here’s what we got into:

  • The negative gamma call nobody else is making. Rob’s math says we’re in it. Most services say we’re not. We think the top is in and the next big move is down — and we walk through why this regime is different from anything we’ve traded.

  • 750 points in 2 minutes. The Micron earnings move that ripped the Nasdaq from down 400 to up 350 right on the closing buzzer. We’ve never seen anything like it.

  • The macro case for a real drawdown. Grantham’s calling for 70%. Credit cards 13% past due. Auto loans defaulting at 7%, mortgages at 6%. Stated-income loans are back and builders are doing 0% down — the same warning signs Bubba watched flash before ‘87 and ‘08. (Reminder: this is a macro view, not Monday’s trade.)

  • Gold, silver, and the copper AI play. Why Bubba’s still bullish gold at these levels and buying physical to hold, where he’s stalking silver, and why copper is the five-year AI trade I’ve been on for a year.

  • The $1,000-on-the-desk trick. The dead-simple discipline hack I used to finally kill my FOMO — real hundred-dollar bills, one brutal question before every trade.

  • Pressing into drawdowns the right way. Knowing your numbers cold: 70% month-over-month, an 11% chance of back-to-back red days, and why a losing streak can actually swing the odds in your favor — without blowing yourself up.

  • Floor war stories. The dotcom short where the order was “whatever you do, don’t cover” — and the golf round that cost us a fortune. Plus the 1987 newsletter screaming “sell, sell, sell” two months before the crash.

  • The mental game. Why hooting on a win is just as dangerous as despairing on a loss, the trading coach who fixed it for us, and Bubba’s closing rule: be mechanical, be stoic, and never let them see your tonsils.

This one’s loaded — markets, macro, metals, and the psychology that separates the pros from the panic. Hit play.

Until next time—trade smart, stay prepared, and together we will conquer these markets!
